Fostering Excellence, Scholarship and Leadership in Nursing

Epsilon Zeta has a long history of fostering excellence, scholarship and leadership in nursing!

Thank you to our wonderful membership. If you are not already a member, we hope you will consider joining our chapter and invite your colleagues to do the same.  Epsilon Zeta actively partners with the GMU School of Nursing Graduate Nursing Organization and the College of Health and Human Services to support scholarly pursuits.  In addition to our Spring Induction Ceremony, Epsilon Zeta offers at least two annual events, one in fall and one in spring.  We are actively seeking grant proposals as well.

  • 40th Anniversary Celebration

    Please join us for a physically distant event. The Epsilon Zeta Chapter planning committee has make several adjustment to this event to provide a safe event for all:

    • This including having only 25% of the total occupancy of the room (50 people in a room for 250)
    • Wait staff will serve all food
    • All participants must register ahead of time
    • All participants will be screened on arrival

  • Chapter Awards

    We are pleased to announce that the applications for the Epsilon Zeta Chapter Awards are now open.

    For this year, we have five awards:

    Caring for the Community Award
    Excellence in Education Award
    Excellence in Leadership Award
    Excellence in Research Award
    Rising Star Award
    Please contact Dr. Intima Alrimawi at intimarimawi@yahoo.co.uk and Dr. Sabrina Salem at ssalem3@gmu.edu for detail on the awards and the nomination form. The deadline for the completed applications is September 15th, 2020. All applicants will be reviewed by the committee and final selections voted on by the Epsilon Zeta Board.

  • Membership Benefit- Journals

    Good morning Epsilon Zeta Chapter,

    Hope all enjoyed the lovely weather this past weekend and had a chance to enjoy some self-care time.  

    Wanted to share another great benefit of your Sigma Membership. As a member you have access to two online peer reviewed nursing journals Journal of Nursing Scholarship and Worldviews on Evidence-Based Nursing. Both journals are published monthly and are a great way to stay current on nursing research and  evidence-based nursing.  Below is the link to access both journals.

  • Self-Care for Nursing

    As we know, this is an unprecedented time for nurses. Whether you are working on the front lines, or have been furloughed or lost your job, you are no doubt experiencing a great deal of stress. Please take the time to care for yourself while you care for others, whatever your current circumstances may be.

  • Fall Networking Event 12/6/19

    Join Epsilon Zeta Sigma Chapter for our Fall Mixer Event at the Inova Center for Personalized Health Conference Center!  Network with local colleagues, present your research posters and attend an open Board meeting. 4:30p-7:30p

    Free for members, $10 cover charge for nonmembers.  Wine/ beer/ soft drinks and heavy h'ors doevres provided.

  • Emerging Leaders and Scholars

    Sigma Theta Tau and the Doctoral Student Organization present the George Mason University Class of 2019 Doctor of Nursing Practice Students in this poster presentation night as they present their work to improve health and health outcomes through innovation of practice change, translation of evidence, and implementation of quality improvement processes.
  • Research Grant Money Available!

    Consider applying for a research grant from Epsilon Zeta! Our chapter awards grant proposals on a competitive basis depending on the quality of the written proposal and significance to nursing. Preference for funding will be given to members of Epsilon Zeta Chapter. Other factors affecting funding will be the amount of funding requested, the research fund budget, and the number of quality proposals received.
